how to elevate your feed in the comfort of your humble abode
Being isolated can cause us to lack inspiration. Now more than ever, we should embrace our own creativity. The easiest way to do this is through photography. Your probably holding the one material you need right in your hand! I know Instagram may seem superficial during this time, but getting creative with your photos can be a huge stress reliever and circulate your mind. Here are a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing.
1. Play Around With Mirror Selfies
Ahhh the infamous mirror selfie..a great easy way to express yourself and your outfit to the world. It's a great way to show your latest online shopping binge. Mirror selfies are great because they allow you complete control of your photo, from the pose, lighting and angle. My advice is to get creative with your mirror selfie. Think about the type of mirror, how much of the mirror you show, and your background.
2. Try New Poses
Another way to get innovative when taking pictures is to play around with poses. Try laying down, sitting, leaning or standing. Set the scene and add a plant, jewelry or furniture. Poses can really create a diverse feel to your feed because it is different from the regular selfie or full body picture.
3. Put On A Face Mask
I know we've all been wearing masks lately, but how bout trying a different type of mask. Pamper yourself and throw on a face mask. Snap a pic and play with angles and faces. Best part? Your skin will thank you later.
4. Grab A Prop
Filler photos are essential to ensure your feed does not look super cluttered. There incredibly easy to create too. you can just grab one item, or snap an array of things. Any way, it creates a balance in your Instagram feed by providing a smooth transition from one photo to the next. Filler photos also generate an easy organized feel that is totally refreshing.
5. Snap Your Outfit
Ever put together such a cute outfit that you just wanna show off? Well why not take a photo of it? Outfit pictures not only motivate yourself, but also provides inspiration for your followers. Its like Pinterest on your profile.
6. Take A Pic Of Your Feet
Okay, I know that is a weird sentence in and of itself, but it's surprisingly really in right now to take a picture of your latest kicks. Mess around with the position and angle and Vuala! Perfect pic. Your could also try snapping a photo of your your hand, jewelry, or décolletage. Either way, it could be used as a great filler photo!
7. Try Out Trends
The outside/mirror trend has hit apps like Instagram and TikTok by storm! I personally don't like seeing the mirror, but enjoy the angle of the sky. Try a self timer pic facing the sky of just your face or entire body. If you do prefer the mirror look, take a mirror selfie but angle yourself so the sky is seen.
8. Shoot Your Essentials
Another filler idea! Take something you use everyday. It can be makeup, shower products, cookware, or fruit, anything is a good option. Lay it out in a strategic way that you like, take a pic and your done!
I know this whole post is really superficial and it doesn't really matter what your post. There really are no rules. Just do what makes you feel good.
